PREGUNTITAS

Hola otra vez… la introducción a esta entrada va a ser muy corta porque en si la entrada es larguísima, pero no se agobien porque no se van a perder detalles de mi experiencia si no lo leen jajajajaja, pero eso sí quiero que sepan que lo que voy a tratar aquí hoy es muy pero muy importante y ¿de qué estoy hablando? Pues muy sencillo, estoy hablándoles de las preguntas para las Hf, así que aquí les dejo un montón de preguntas que saque de blogs, de páginas de internet, otras que yo misma hice, en fin son…no sé cuántas son, creo que alrededor de 100, pero les van a servir. Así que ahí les van.  

ACERCA DE LOS NIÑOS

He visto muchas listas en las que ponen preguntas como: How many children do you have? What are their names? How old are they? Pero NO las hagas, se supone que si estás hablando con esa familia es porque te interesa y ya leíste su información, entonces no tendrías por qué preguntar eso, a menos que estés si agencia y no te especifiquen bien la edad de los niños, he visto que en algunas ponen como “niños entre 5 y 10 años”, entonces ahí si la pregunta de la edad no estaría fuera de lugar.

*Tell me about their personalities.

*How do they get along with each other?  (como se llevan entre si)

*What do they like to do?

*What do they DON’T like to do?

*Which are their hobbies?

*Are they going to day care, preschool or school?

*How far away is the school?

*Do they go to extra activities (soccer, piano, etc.) How often? How do they get there (car, walking, someone picks them up)?

**Could you tell me a little bit about your kids?

*How is the daily routine?

*What are they favorite games and toys?

* Do they have play dates at home?

*What kind of activities can I do with your kids?

*How often would you like me to do activities such as zoo visit, Movie Theater, etc?

*Tell me what usually you do when your kids have unacceptable behaviors?

*How do you discipline your kids? No dessert, time out? Do you expect me to do so? If so, can you describe me two situations at least in where you’d expect me to do so.

*Could I use time out?

*Do the kid(s) go to bed alone or do I have to stay with them till they fall asleep?

*What are their favorite tv shows/movies?

*Do they watch tv daily? For how long?

*Will I cook for them? What meals? (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)?

*Can you describe me a typical breakfast, lunch and dinner for the kid?

*What kind of food the kids like to eat?

* Do you have any restriction with the candies intake?

*Would you teach me to do their favorite meals?

*Do you involve them in the cooking process?

*Do they have any problems eating vegetables?

*Is there any food they don’t eat for health issues?

*Do they have any allergies? How do you control them?

*What kind of diet do I follow with the kids?

*Will I be in charge of grocery shopping for the kids,  If so, how often?

*Do any of them suffer from clinical conditions like OCD, ADD, hyperactivity?

*What role would you like me to be for your children?

ACERCA DE LA FAMILIA

* Can I call you Mrs. or by your name?

* How do you describe your family?

* What is your profession?

* Do you work inside or outside the house?

*What is your work time?

*How is your lifestyle? (active or relaxed, etc)

* Which is the family's routine?

* How do you spend your free time?

*What are your hobbies?

* Do you smoke?

* Do you have any pets? What kind of animal is it?  Will I have to care for them? Does the animal lives inside or outside the house?

* can you List the family rules and restrictions I should know?

* What do you consider most challenging about your children?

**Why are you interested in hosting an au pair?

* Have you had au pairs or nannies before?

*Tell me about your experience with the au pair / nanny

* What do you think your former au pairs (or nannies) have enjoyed most/least about living with your family?

* Have you had a problem with an au pair? How did you solve it? How can we avoid a similar problem?

Igual que lo que dije con los niños, muchas preguntan: Where do you live?  Pero eso normalmente está en la información que te muestra la familia antes de llamarte o enviarte correos, así que si ya sabes la respuesta no preguntes o vas a quedas como despistada ¿y quien quiere una niñera despistada? Creo que nadie.

* Name of nearby cities

* Is it a big city or a suburb?

*Can you list the important places in the area?

*Might you list your favorite places in the area?

*How is the weather?

* What kind of transportation do you have access to?

*Are there other families with children nearby?

*Are there any other au pairs in the area?

*What things are there to do with the children near you house? (Actividades cerca a casa.)

*What kind of study opportunities are offered in your area?

*What kind of things are to do around town (markets malls, parks, etc.)

BENEFICIOS

No las hagan de entrada, por su bien tienen que hacerlas, puede que no todas pero si algunas y es preferable que las hagan ya cuando esten mas en confianza.

*What days do I have to work?

*At what time do my work begin and ends?

* What will my schedule be like? Can you send me a sample daily schedule?

*What will be my duties according to the family customs?

*Will I be responsible for any household duties related to the children?

*Can you list of my responsibilities for each child?

* How much liberty will you give me in scheduling and choosing activities/homework for the kids?

*Are there other duties you expect me to do?

* How often would you need me to work extra hours?

* If you need extra hours, how much are you willing to pay for them?

* Will there be a curfew?  (Toque de queda)

* Will I be driving the children?

* How often and how far?

* How long will I have to get used to the roads and traffic before to drive with the kids?

PREGUNTAS PARA LOS NIÑOS

Las que  van a cuidar niños más grandecitos que ya saben hablar, por lo general tienen la oportunidad de hablar con ellos, al menos una vez.

*do you like to go to the school?

*what is your favorite color?

*what is your favorite Disney princess?

… espero que les sean de mucha ayuda, si creen que me falto poner alguna pregunta importante o definitivamente creen que algo está terriblemente mal escrito, porfa díganlo, porque así yo ya tenga HF pues hay otras niñas que aún no tienen y están en proceso de encontrarla y no está de más saber qué otras cosas preguntar.
